March 30, 2010 - Vector Strategy Announces March 2010 Release of Their Armor Procurement Forecast for US Military Ground Vehicles.
Vector Strategy has published the March 2010 release of their Armor Procurement Forecast for US Military Ground Vehicles.
This release of Vector Strategy's armor procurement forecast incorporates the Department of Defense's budget request for FY11 and their estimate of annual procurement through FY15.
According to Marcia Price, President of Vector Strategy, "After reviewing the new budget request and listening to high ranking US Army officers speak at the Tactical Wheeled Vehicle Conference in Monterey, we feel compelled to be conservative in our forecast for US military ground vehicle procurement and associated armor procurement over the next five years."
The title of Vector Strategy's latest forecast release is "FY11 to FY15: Conservatism Prevails".
Ms. Price continues, "There are several reasons for our conservatism. An excess of tactical wheeled vehicle inventory due to over-procurement for modularity and ARFORGEN needs, declining OCO and supplemental war funding as deployed troop levels decline in Iraq and Afghanistan, a suspension in armor B-kit procurement for tactical vehicles, a lull in procurement as we wait for several major vehicle recapitalization programs and new vehicle platforms to ramp up, and overall National budget pressures will squeeze Department of Defense procurement funding."
Purchase Vector Strategy's March 2010 release to see how they reflect theater needs and vehicle modernization plans in their armor procurement projections for FY10 to FY15. Also included for the first time in this report is a description of all major vehicle RDT&E programs including funding, objectives, and timelines.
This forecast is ready for immediate purchase and is delivered electronically. More information about Vector Strategy’s Armor Procurement Forecast for US Military Ground Vehicles is available on Vector Strategy's website at www.vector-strategy.com.
