March 25, 2009 - Vector Strategy Publishes First Set of Deliverables on US Military Body Armor Market Research.
Vector Strategy is pleased to report significant progress on the upcoming publication of a groundbreaking report titled US Military Body Armor Industry: Forecast and Analysis. The report is the result of extensive primary and secondary research and analysis. Certain key findings of this research have already been shared with early report purchasers.
The final report will provide a thorough analysis of the US military body armor industry. Forecasted procurement of body armor system components for 2000 to 2015 will be provided, including sustainment needs as well as fielding requirements. Material requirements associated with body armor procurement are also forecasted, including ballistic fiber and ceramic tile requirements. Technology, political, and military / defense trends affecting the military body armor market will be discussed.
To date, Vector has conducted over 50 interviews with body armor manufacturers, material suppliers, military and government representatives, other subject matter experts, and industry participants. Vector Strategy’s research team has been working extensively on this project since August 2008.
A select group of companies within the body armor industry chose to be early research investors at the inception of the project in order to receive research findings immediately as they became available. This group has already received:
- White Paper Report discussing qualitative market trends.
- Procurement forecast and discussion of Interceptor Body Armor and Next Generation Body Armor purchases by the Department of Defense for the US services for the years 2000 to 2015.
- Material requirements forecast and discussion related to forecasted procurement.
The following schedule is anticipated for the remaining research deliverables:
- Supply Chain Analysis including a discussion of industry structure, supply chain dynamics, and market participants. This includes 25 detailed company profiles of hard and soft body armor manufacturers and raw material suppliers and will be published on March 31.
- A final report incorporating all deliverables, including descriptions of current and future body armor programs and components, development priorities, and technology trends will be complete on April 30.
- Conference Day held exclusively for early research purchasers in May. This will be a unique opportunity to interpret the research results with Vector Strategy analysts and confer with other body armor industry participants.
According to Marcia Price, President of Vector Strategy, “This is the first time a research project of this scale has focused exclusively on the US Military Body Armor market and made research results available to the industry at large. Our clients are pleased to have this vital market intelligence which assists them in building business plans and making sound investment decisions.”
Early purchasers will immediately receive the research findings already published, in addition to the final report and Supply Chain Analysis as soon as they are complete. Purchasers must commit by April 30 to have the opportunity to participate in the Conference Day. Companies interested in becoming an early research purchaser are encouraged to call Vector Strategy, as availability is limited.
